This novel also has a romance element to it, but I didn’t feel like it was overbearing. ![]() Even if you are an avid fairy tale reader, there is still something unique about this novel that will compel you to read it. However, these tales come together to create something completely new and different, but still retains an air of the familiar to ground the reader. It is primarily an East of the Sun, West of the Moon retelling, however there are also some different bits of Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Tam Lin, and a few others. Will a year be long enough to unravel the secrets behind this mysterious wolf and his house?Įcho North was influenced by several by several different fairy tales. She agrees and the wolf takes her on a journey to his magical house under the mountain. ![]() The wolf makes her a bargain, he will see her father safely home if she comes to live with him for a year. Believing him to be dead, she is shocked to find him half dead in a snowbank, guarded by a strange talking wolf. ![]() “I held him like the world had spun away beneath me, and I was left to dance with the stars, not mortal any longer but a creature made of moonlight and magic.”Įcho’s life suddenly changes when her father goes missing on his way to the city. ![]()
